Colorado Governor Candidate Joshua Rodriguez Urges Release of Jeanette Vizguerra Calls for Justice Reform

Arvada, Colorado Dec 27, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - Colorado Governor candidate Joshua Rodriguez (Libertarian Party) is urging statewide reforms to the justice system, emphasizing transparency, due process, and protections against retaliatory prosecution. Rodriguez, a longtime community advocate on immigration reform and family reunification, says his experiences reporting alleged wrongdoing led to personal targeting, highlighting broader systemic issues.

Rodriguez has engaged in advocacy work alongside immigration rights organizer Jeanette Vizguerra and discussions connected to organizations like the Brennan Center for Justice. He describes his campaign as focused on constraining government power through verifiable facts and independent oversight, rather than politics or selective narratives.

“I brought a case forward in good faith. I did what the public is told to do—document it, report it, and trust the process,” said Rodriguez. “Instead of investigating the underlying misconduct, the situation flipped and I became the target. When you try to have a voice and point out injustice, you shouldn’t end up facing retaliation.”

Rodriguez alleges that after raising concerns, authorities shifted focus to arresting him based on what he calls induced or manufactured evidence. He argues this pattern erodes public trust and discourages reporting of wrongdoing.

“When government can induce a storyline, manufacture a record, and then act as if the narrative is proof, it breaks the public’s trust,” Rodriguez said. “That doesn’t just harm one person. It harms every victim who wonders whether reporting will make them the next target.”

Rodriguez referenced recent developments in Vizguerra’s case, including her release following a judge’s order as reported by multiple Colorado media outlets. He ties her story to the need for humane, lawful governance in Colorado.

Rodriguez’s campaign platform includes structural changes: independent oversight of misconduct allegations, stronger evidence integrity rules, and policies preventing retaliation against whistleblowers.

“I’m running for Governor because Coloradans deserve a justice system that can be independently verified and a government that does not punish people for speaking up,” Rodriguez said. “If calling out wrongdoing makes you a target, then the system is training people to stay silent. That has to end.”

Rodriguez calls on Coloradans, journalists, attorneys, and civic leaders to advocate for these reforms.

“Colorado can lead the country in accountability,” Rodriguez said. “But it starts with the public insisting that justice is something government must prove—through records, process, and truth.”
