New York City, New York Mar 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - The Silver Horn Film & TV Awards hosted its first in-person event on Saturday (3/12) and honored actors from titles like King Richard and The Eyes of Tammy Faye. The indie drama Coda has won big at this year’s SHFT awards, picking up Best Motion Picture.
The Apple drama about a deaf family was bought for $25m from last year’s Sundance film festival and has also been nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Will Smith also won for playing Richard Williams in the tennis drama King Richard. He called the father of Venus and Serena “a dreamer like no one you’ve ever known”, saying it was his “deepest pleasure” to share their story with the world. ‘I was running naked with a fake penis’: how Simon Rex found redemption playing a washed-up porn star Jessica Chastain beat out Nicole Kidman, Lady Gaga, and Olivia Colman to win for televangelist biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
