Ontario, Canada Sep 11, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - ClearDue has released TariffTag 2.1, an update to its free iPhone app for researching U.S. and Canadian import duties. The update lets users save and share import-cost estimates and answer guided questions to narrow down a product's tariff classification.
TariffTag helps shoppers explore the charges that may apply before purchasing goods from another country. Users choose the destination and country of manufacture, describe a product in everyday language, and select the closest official tariff description. The app then presents an estimate showing base duty, supported additional tariffs, applicable Canadian sales taxes, and the assumptions behind the calculation.
Version 2.1 makes those calculations easier to keep and discuss. Users can save an estimate on their iPhone and revisit the original calculation, including its rate-retrieval date. Saved estimates retain the captured figures rather than silently changing when live rates are updated. A sharing option creates a plain-language summary that can be sent through the iPhone's share sheet.
The update also adds guided follow-up questions when a product description needs more detail. TariffTag uses official classification information to help users narrow the available matches, while leaving the classification choice visible to the user. Search results identify additional tariffs separately from base duty rates.
TariffTag draws on official tariff information from the Canada Border Services Agency and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Its built-in visual lessons explain how tariffs are charged and how product classifications are organized, giving users context alongside the numbers.
The app is available in the Canadian and U.S. App Stores for iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Tariff searches and estimates are free, with no account, advertising, subscription, or locked results. Optional tips support ongoing operation and maintenance. Saved estimates stay on the device and can be deleted by the user.
