City Witch Sets Out to Learn About School Children in New Book

School teacher captures the essence of good deeds in the classroom

Pittsburg, California Jan 8, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - Elementary teacher and author, Ruth M. Amutice, highlights the value of small acts of kindness in her debut children’s book, Hagatha and the Miracle. With school as the setting, it explores the nature of consequences, like how one good deed can create a ripple effect of positivity throughout the classroom and vice versa. This important life lesson is captured by Amutice in bright images and beautiful language for young children to learn and take to heart.

The book follows the adventures of Hagatha, a city witch who is interested in learning everything there is to know about children. She is convinced that the best place to do this would be at the elementary school on the countryside. With her shape-shifting powers, Hagatha transforms into a bird, flies to school and assimilates herself with the third-graders. Unluckily, she finds herself being a target of a classroom bully. Hagatha is about to give up on her little experiment until she witnesses a silver lining in the form of a good deed.

Hagatha and the Miracle is part of a growing campaign in the fight against all forms of bullying. Reforms in the system are being pushed across communities to shed light on the detrimental effects of bullying especially on children’s mental health. Amutice hopes that her story of a peculiar city witch will help parents and fellow teachers to guide their children about the weight and consequences of their words and actions.
