CIOB Diploma in Site Supervisory

Our CIOB level 3 Diploma in Construction Site Supervisory is designed for professionals already working within the Construction Industry, who wish to move into a supervisory role. The programme consists of a total of 7 units and students need to successfully complete 6 units, including the mandatory unit 3 (Supervising Health, Safety, Welfare and Environment) in order to achieve the full award.

Due to staff-shortages in the Construction Industry worldwide, employers are looking for experienced and qualified Site Supervisors so that their company can satisfy EU regulatory requirements including Health and Safety.

Course Content

Our one-year part-time programme consists of the following units:

Unit 01 – Planning
Unit 02 – Organising and Controlling Operations
Unit 03 – Supervising Health, Safety, Welfare and Environment
Unit 04 – Managing Dimensional Accuracy of the works
Unit 05 – Working with People
Unit 06 – Supervising Construction Works to Existing Buildings and Structures
Unit 07 – Supervising the Construction of New Buildings and Structures

Learning outcomes

Students will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a Team/Project Supervisor for any size of the construction project.

Entry Requirements

UCAS tariff Score 80-120 (current) / 32-48 (2017 onwards), or
Level 2 S/NVQ, or equivalent, in a related subject, or
Two years’ relevant construction experience.
At least a Grade C in GCSE in Maths and English (or local Equivalent).
Students will be required to join the CIOB as a student member.

Course Delivery

All unit lectures and supplementary course materials will be delivered in English.
Course materials will be delivered through the CIOB’s Moodle (student portal).
Discussion boards available online for students to interact with each other.
First class British lecturers deliver the ‘Live online lectures’ including Question and Answer sessions and the Lecturer’s computer screen will be shared through video conferencing.
The lectures are scheduled outside of normal working hours.
Lectures are recorded live then uploaded onto CIOB’s Moodle to allow students access to exactly the same course materials should they miss the live online lecture.

Course Assessment

Each unit is graded dependant on a student’s overall performance within that unit including set assignments and evidence of self-study undertaken.

Course Payment

The commencement date of the course will be taken from the date a first payment is made.
CIOB level 3 Diploma in Construction Site Supervisory – 1-year part-time full fee - £980.
There will also be a registration fee payable to CIOB.
