Cincinnati, Ohio Mar 11, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Ohioans know when it rains, it pours, and that’s certainly the case with Cincinnati singer/songwriter/producer Ann Patrice. After years of helping other artists find success, Ann decided to step in front of the mic herself, unleashing a flood of creativity in the form of several new recordings, including her first single and video, “Leave You For My Husband.”
Video director, and manager, Philip Payne (P-Payne) who also co-wrote the song, directed “Leave You For My Husband”, a video that features Patrice navigating a marriage that is in shambles, which sends her into the arms of another man. However, she realizes that though it may hurt to leave her affair, she needs to give her husband another chance because of what they’ve been through together. Patrice released the video independently on YouTube late 2017, where it has nearly 50,000 views. The track is also available for download on Google Play.
“It’s an honest song about infidelity and pain, and the tough decisions a woman has to make when she finds herself caught in a position she never thought she’d be in,” says Patrice.
Ann credits “Leave You For My Husband” with igniting the fuse of her creativity, because from there, she went on to write 60 more tracks, some of which are being courted by licensed filmmakers and Facebook Music. She created her own publishing label, Stepin2theglow, which is BMI affiliated, and received praise for her music from BMI critics.
“I’m excited by the prospect of doing this for myself,” says Patrice, who has a Criminal Justice degree and has worked as a CDL instructor, as well as helping other Cincinnati musicians hone their craft. “Although my road to this stage has been a winding one, I never lost sight of the dream. It’s true what they say, ‘there is no elevator to success. You have to take the stairs.’”
