Atlanta, Georgia Dec 26, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - After the company arranged a Christmas dinner for the staff, more than 700 have fallen sick at Airbus Atlantic. Health authorities in France have said that the workers from the aerospace group's site in western France were found vomiting and suffering diarrhea. Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS) said that it was unclear whether something was wrong on the menu that turned Christmas into a nightmare. Airbus said that "around 100" were taken ill. The authorities are trying to identify the cause of this incident as this cannot happen in the future again.

Airbus Atlantic is known to be the world's largest aircraft maker and has more than 15,000 employees in four different countries. Exactly what ingredient caused the illness is still unknown; however, ARS said that there were "clinical signs of vomiting or diarrhea" in the food. An investigation has been already launched to find the source of this massive food poisoning incident that gave the company a bad reputation. The festive feast was held at the company's restaurant at its site at Montoir-de-Bretagne in the Loire-Atlantique region of western France. The dinner took place on December 14 and 2,600 employees attended it however, it turned into a nightmare before Christmas. The delicious menu featured a lavish gourmet style dish featured foie gras, beef tenderloin, scallops, lobster, and capped off with desserts like hazelnut-chocolate mousse, ice-cream logs and, and everything could be bought at only $16 per person. The spokesperson for the company said, “This appears to be an isolated event and all employees are recovering well.”

The wider group of Airbus employs around 134,000 people and offers different products and services for helicopter, aircraft, defense, space, and security industries. Causing such incidents in these crucial industries could be a threat as France has previously faced another situation. Earlier this year, some people got sick and a Greek national also died from the food in France. They were attacked with a rare food-borne illness botulism that started at a restaurant in Bordeaux.
