Chicago, Illinois Apr 5, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - One person was killed and two others wounded in a shooting in Chicago’s North Austin neighborhood Friday that also prompted a SWAT team response. The shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. October 2021, in the 1200 block of North Mason Avenue. Police said four men drove up to a home and open fire at individuals inside. Police said people inside the home returned fire. A SWAT team was called to the scene for reports of a man shooting from a building.
Chicago Police Department’s 25th District Tactical officers responded along with paramedics. One wounded individual, believed to be one of the four men, was rushed to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park where he was pronounced dead.
Two other victims from the house were taken to nearby hospitals. A third victim is said to have driven himself to the emergency room.
As Chicago police were able to safely evacuate a man, woman, and small child.
The men returned to their vehicles and fled the scene, according to witnesses. One vehicle was later found abandoned and burned at Chicago Avenue and Lockwood Avenue. Another vehicle that was involved crashed into an Oak Park gas station. The driver of that vehicle fled that scene.
After being arrested and released without charges, One of the individuals was identified as Chicago native musician Otha Red Coleman Iv Who goes by the stage name Dirty Redd 219 or Dirty Redd. Dirty Redd is currently signed to Big 4 entertainments, Who’s planning to release his first project this summer.
Mr. Coleman is no stranger to the legal system, or to Violence. Dirty Redd was also the subject of two other homicide Investigations, Including the slang of popular Hip-hop blogger Zack Stoner.
