This extended play definitely blossomed more than Rodriguez's first EP titled "2 AM (RED ROOM)". He experiments with live instruments and different vocal ranges as well and we can see he is starting to become more comfortable with himself and his music. With the mesmerizing and layered introductory track "BAD DECISIONS INTRO" all the way to his last track "GRIP PT. 2/GUIDE", he proves that he can make music on such a mature topic so young. His song "TALK ABOUT ME" was one of the first songs in his lower registry and the song itself was very entertaining and he gave us that "all talk is good talk". "connection" had a very catchy hook that kept us entertained; the song had a catchy beat as well and he executed his first "hip-hop type beat" very well. Who knew talking about being in a "thruple" could be so interesting. He sings "finally got a taste of happiness in my life, I finally got you both and I ain't gotta think twice." His song "NITE TIME PLEASURES (feat. Haze)" was a unique and interesting spin-off of his unreleased song "NITE TIME/LIGHTS OUT". "TEMPTATION PT. 1" was very short, sweet, and had us wanting part two already! Very much like his debut single "fed the fire", he teases us with just a section of the song and has claimed to release the full version on the album. Giving me very much Summer Walker vibes. Lastly, "GRIP PT. 2/GUIDE" was a quiet but very sexy track. With the 60s commercial feel at the beginning to the slowed-down bass and hypnotizing hums and adlibs for three and a half minutes, it made me want to bring my girlfriend in the room and do some things to her and the craziest part is that this boy is 16! Yes, there are some things about the release that could've been a little cleaner and better, but for a 16-year-old indie artist, this boy really has the potential to make it in the industry. His beats are constructed very well and his songwriting skills are incredible. His wordplay reminds me of a mixture of Victoria Monèt with some Julia Michaels and Sia.
