Pennsauken, New Jersey Dec 2, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Dozens of new medical professionals are now beginning their careers, thanks to their hard work and American Training Center.
The New Jersey-based educational institution just graduated nearly 50 students as certified medical assistants during National Apprenticeship Week.
The pandemic has worsened labor shortages in the medical field. Employment in health care is down by 460,000 since February 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The agency expects medical assistants to be in high demand in the coming decade, adding a projected 132,600 jobs by 2030. The job outlook is 18% growth, which is much faster than average.
At the Nov. 16 ceremony, employee partner Cooper sent a representative to speak to the graduates: Louis Bezich, Senior VP and Chief Administrative Officer. Also joining them were New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Rob Asaro-Angelo and representatives from the office of Congressman Donald Norcross. Each graduate was awarded a congressional certificate in addition to their diploma.
American Training Center’s CMA program features hands-on training in which medical assistants work in physician offices, hospitals, outpatient clinics, laboratories, diagnostic screening facilities, rehabilitation practices, colleges, and universities.
The institution also offers courses for people who want to launch careers as Certified Nurse Aides (C.N.A.), medical billing and coding professionals as well as pharmacy technicians.
