Cannabidol has a metabolite called 7-OH-CBD. This metabolite has been proven, in clinical trials, to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection in humans. Cannabidiol acts on the host gene receptors after the initial infection of Covid-19 or SARS-CoV-2. It intercepts the viral signaling pathways.
While Cannabidiol may not prevent you from being infected with Covid-19, it may work to protect you from a life-threatening case of Covid-19. Cannabidiol has been proven to slow the body’s response to pain, inflammation, and anxiety. It can work in this exact same way to reduce the chance of a cytokine storm.
This occurs when an infection triggers the body to flood the bloodstream with cytokines. In the case of severe Covid-19, the lungs are filled with fluid after the body produces inflammatory cytokines.
In clinical trials, Cannabidiol blocked the viral replication after the virus entered the cells. Scientific evidence shows it is highly likely it would be effective against viral variations with mutated spike proteins. This leads us to believe that Cannabidiol should be effective against further mutations of Covid-19.

The clinical trials were performed using a Cannabidiol tincture, taken orally, twice daily. The dosage was 50mg. The Cannabidiol was THC free.
