Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. Anesthesiologists are physicians specializing in perioperative care, the development of anesthetic plans, and the administration of anesthetics.

Interventional pain management or interventional pain medicine is a medical subspecialty which treats pain with invasive interventions such as facet joint injections, nerve blocks (interrupting the flow of pain signals along specific nervous system pathways), neuroaugmentation (including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation), vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nucleoplasty, endoscopic discectomy, and implantable drug delivery systems. An interventional pain medicine specialist plays an important role in coordinating additional care such as physical therapy, psychological therapy, and rehabilitation programs in order to offer patients a comprehensive treatment plan with a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of their pain.

Dr. Levin’s clinical interests include spinal degenerative diseases, headaches, complex pain syndromes following spinal surgery of the back or neck, bulging discs, herniated discs, facet joint disease, neuralgia, and complex regional pain syndromes, ie; RSD or CRPS, and numbness or weakness due to pathologies of the spine or nerves. He attributes his success to using the most innovative technologies and to using a handcrafted approach to patient care.

Outside of practicing medicine, he enjoys traveling and high-end cars.
