Nashville, Tennessee May 26, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - E414 Productions is developing "Broken and Restored," a feature film based on the book and lives of Donnie and Cheryl Bowman, after recently acquiring the life and book rights to the story.
The screenplay adaptation is being penned by Sam Juergens, who served as a key creative producer on the highly anticipated biopic "JIMMY," releasing nationwide in theaters on November 6. The project is being produced by Brittany McVicker of Ohio-based production company E414 Productions, together with Sharon Oliphant of 21 Five Films, whose recent work includes producing the biopic "Triumph of the Heart."
"Broken and Restored" tells the story of a family shaped by adversity, faith, perseverance, and restoration. While aspects of the Bowman family's life have occasionally entered the public conversation, the deeper story behind their journey has largely remained untold.
At its core, the film focuses on the experiences that shaped a family whose legacy would eventually span business, ministry, and national public life, including raising the current Vice President of the United States.
"This is a deeply human story about struggle, redemption, and hope," said producer Brittany McVicker. "The Bowman family's journey is one that so many people will see themselves in. We're grateful to be working alongside Cheryl Bowman to help bring that journey to audiences."
The film is currently in development and is planned to be shot in Cincinnati, Ohio, later this year. Additional production updates, including casting, will be announced in the future.
