Boesen & Snow Law Welcomes Pharmacist-Turned-Attorney Patrick Carpenter, PharmD, JD

Carpenter built a 503A compounding pharmacy from the ground up before becoming a lawyer, giving Boesen & Snow clients a rare combination of hands-on pharmacy operations experience and legal expertise

Scottsdale, Arizona Aug 4, 2026 (Issuewire.com)  - Boesen & Snow Law, a law firm focused on pharmacy, pharmaceutical, and healthcare regulatory matters, today announced that Patrick Carpenter, PharmD, JD, has joined the firm as an attorney. Carpenter brings a dual background as a registered pharmacist and licensed attorney that is rare in the pharmacy law field, one that gives clients a genuine operational advantage.

Before entering the legal profession, Carpenter built a 503A compounding pharmacy from the ground up, securing multi-state registrations and navigating significant regulatory change in the compounding industry. That firsthand experience, he says, exposed a gap in the market: pharmacy owners who could not find lawyers who truly understood their business.

“I spent a lot of time getting lawyers who called themselves pharmacy law experts up to speed on things I felt they should already understand,” Carpenter said. “That is part of what pushed me to go to law school myself.”

Carpenter most recently practiced on the FDA and Pharmacy team at Baker Hostetler, an AmLaw 100 firm, advising clients on FDA compliance, drug manufacturing, and pharmacy regulatory issues. He holds a Master of Science in Drug Regulatory Affairs and Health Policy, previously served as adjunct faculty in Northeastern University's Drug Regulatory Affairs program, and has published on compounding pharmacy regulation. At Boesen & Snow, Carpenter's practice spans the full pharmacy and drug supply chain, including 503A and 503B compounding, drug manufacturing, wholesale distribution, mail order pharmacy, and telehealth and telemedicine prescribing and payment models.

“Patrick is exactly the kind of attorney our clients need,” said Allyson Snow, J.D., Founding Partner, Boesen & Snow Law. “He has not just studied pharmacy and drug regulation. He operated within it, built a compounding pharmacy, and worked across the drug supply chain from manufacturing to dispensing. That gives him instant credibility with clients, and it means the advice he gives is practical, not just technically correct.”

Carpenter said he was drawn to Boesen & Snow because of the firm's focused, entrepreneurial approach to pharmacy law. “Boesen & Snow is one of a small number of firms doing this specific kind of work,” he said. “It is the right fit for the way I want to practice.”
