BLACK MEDIA HONORS™️ ANNOUNCES IT'S INAUGURAL AWARD SEASON
Atlanta-based media company Empower Media Group (EMG) announced the 2020 Black Media Honors™️ – the annual two-hour television special that honors broadcasting, public relations, media, mass communication, journalism icons who have influenced and made significant contributions to the media industry. The awards weekend is set to begin April 24th through Sunday, April 26, 2020, in Atlanta, GA.
Some of this year’s confirmed attendees for the 2020 Black Media Honors™️ include Pastor Dr. Jamal Bryant (New Birth Missionary Church), Mikki Taylor (Essence Magazine Editor-at-Large), Jeff Johnson (BET, Rickey Smiley Morning Show, NAACP), Dr. Rashad Richey (Political Analyst for MSNBC, Radio One Personality, Rolling Out), Morgan DeBaun (Founder of Blavity), Dr. Heavenly Kimes (Bravo Married to Medicine), Dion Summers (VP of Programming SiriusXM), Dr. Casay Vaughn (Media Mogul) and more. Additionally, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms will be in attendance.

In addition, Black Media Honors™️ in preparation for election season partners with Celebrity DJ Jay Claxton and Dr. Casay Vaughn of DJ Vote; A national initiative that houses some of the nation's top Celebrity DJ’s getting the message about registering to vote.
Some of this year’s sponsors include Prima Atlanta, Lyft, SiriusXM, Blavity, Essence Magazine and more.
A portion of proceeds will benefit the 2025 groundbreaking of the National Exhibit of African American Media (NEAAM) in Atlanta, GA. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the show begins at 6 p.m.
