BJS' Smart Girl Team Conducts Virtual Webinar on Break the Bias from Self to Society, IWD Celebration

Celebrating International Women's Day 2022 with extraordinary women who are inspiring all with their incredible accomplishments.

Pune, Maharashtra Mar 22, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana's Smart Girl team celebrated International Women's Day 2022 by organizing a virtual webinar with India's some of the most acclaimed women social entrepreneurs. The virtual webinar was conducted on ZOOM and broadcasted live on Facebook on 8th March 2022. It received tremendous response from girl and women participants from all sections of the society and from across the country. The webinar focused on breaking the bias featuring women who are breaking the bias and rising to success against all the odds.

BJS’ Smart Girl program is a unique endeavour that seeks to address issues and concerns related to the emotional development of adolescent girls in the age group of 13-21 years. Since 2008, more than 7 lakh girls studying in government schools/colleges have been empowered through the Smart Girl program.

The underlying assumption to this program is that girls between the age of 14-18 years are emotionally vulnerable and denied equal opportunities for development as compared to boys in a similar age group. Addressing this gender gap will lead to overall development in girls thereby increasing their capacities to make decisions and control over their own lives. The prevailing social environment and increasing reports of violence (physical and verbal) against girls also necessitate the implementation of the Smart Girls program.

The central focus of the Smart Girl program is the mental, emotional, and social empowerment of adolescents girls and young women with skills, attitudes, and abilities that support them in making the right choices and decisions to live a dignified life. It aims to help them to become more resilient in the face of crisis and in the rebuilding of their societies.

To celebrate the spirit and success of women, a special virtual webinar was held by the BJS Smart Girl team on the occasion of International Women's Day 2022. The theme this year revolved around Breaking the Bias. In line with the global theme, the topic of the virtual webinar was Break the Bias - from self to society.

On this special occasion, four successful women were invited to the webinar as special guests. They included - Ms. Surabhi Shah, Eco Warrior, Founder of Carragree, Mrs. Yukti Kapoor Mehandiratta, Founder and CEO of Silhouette by Yukti Academy, Ms. Priyanka Bissa, NSS President Awardee, Karmaveer Chakra Awardee, and Ms. Gauri Maheshwari, Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Awardee.

The webinar was attended by hundreds of participants from across the country. Shri Shantilal Muttha, the founder of BJS, made the opening speech and encouraged the participants to achieve the goals they plan for their life. Ms. Bharti Chauhan, the Smart Girl program in charge hosted the event and welcomed all the guests to the webinar.

The special guests enlightened and entertained all the participants with their inspiring stories of success. They not only shared their life's journey but also shared the key secrets of their success in life. Each of the four guests shared their life experiences with the participants who were mostly adolescent girls and women who are passionate about achieving their goals.

More than 1000 participants attended the virtual event and it was a grand success. The real-life stories of the four incredible women inspired the young girls to break the bias and work towards achieving their goals in life. They appreciated the Smart Girl program that helps adolescent girls to set smart goals in life and gives a clear direction to their life path.
