It is also the first time any Member of Parliament has taken this initiative to boost the startup ecosystem in India.
In the 75th year of India’s independence (Amrit Mahotsav), we recognized 75 super startups of Indore !!
Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad honored 25 of these rocking 75 startups of Indore, in this mega initiative taken under the Saansad Sewa Sankalp by our Member of Parliament Mr. Shankar Lalwani !! Dr. Karad also promised that the Government of India will support the startups of Indore !!
Indore's startup ecosystem will now get a nitro-boost of sorts !!
In the program organized on Saturday, 25 startups of Indore selected by the committee of experts were awarded and 50 more startups were recognised !! All these 75 startups will now get funding and mentoring opportunities, thanks to the recognition !!
Dr. Bhagwat Karad praised the cleanliness of Indore !! At the same time, praising the work of MP Shankar Lalwani, Dr. Karad assured that as the Minister of Finance, Indore's startups will not face any kind of shortage of funding !!
Mr. Shankar Lalwani said that 'Under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, the country is progressing rapidly as a startup nation and many unicorn startups have emerged, including from Indore as well !! He also said that the Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has always guided Indore to move forward in the field of startups and together we will make Indore the startup capital.
Mr. P Narhari, Principal Secretary - MSME, Government of Madhya Pradesh, said that i-Hub should be started in Indore on the lines of Tea-Hub in Hyderabad !! Also, Madhya Pradesh's startup policy will be announced in a week, which will always be open to change - for the betterment !! Also, a Venture Capital Fund will be created in the state !!
Praising MP Mr. Lalwani, IIM-Indore Director Prof. Himanshu Rai said that Indore has immense potential !! Professor Rai, while motivating the startups, said that this is the best time to work on startups !!
TiE MP President Mr. Pradeep Karambelkar said that TiE MP will organize such funding events regularly, and TiE Director Mr. Abhishek Sanghvi further said that they aim to create the best ecosystem for incubating, building, and funding startups, and aim to invest !! Also, Tie-MP has a plan to invest ₹100 crores in startups of Madhya Pradesh, in the next 1 year !!
This was the biggest funding event of Madhya Pradesh for startups !! 11 investors were part of the panel from across India, including Mr. Mahavir Sharma of TiE Angels, Mr. Abhijit Bhandari of Ecosystem Ventures, Mr. Anil Joshi of Unicorn India Ventures, and Mr. K Chandran of Chennai Angels !!
15 selected startups from the region pitched to the investors !! Ecosystem Ventures provided an on-the-spot funding commitment of ₹4 crores, to 3 startups !!
IIM Indore promised to devote 4 hours every week to the startups of Indore, while Mr. P Narhari announced to provide many facilities to the startups of Indore !! Mr. Sawan Laddha of Workie has decided to give working spaces, where IIM Indore and startups can meet !!
State government advisor Dr. Nishant Khare, BJP city president Gaurav Randive were also present in the program.

AdvertiCe CEO Mr. Mayur Sethi thanked MP Mr. Lalwani and said that Indore's startup ecosystem is now ready for takeoff !!
