After graduating from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/The Chicago Medical School, Dr. Gannavarapu went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of California, Irvine. He followed by performing his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He then went on to complete a 4th-year fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
A member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
