India's First Innovation University adds another feather in its cap

Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh Nov 15, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - The College of Agricultural Research & Applied Sciences (CASAR) of BEST Innovation University dedicated its Ayur Garden in commemoration of the World Ayurveda Day on 13th Nov 2020. The initiative is to conserve & explore indigenous medicinal plant wealth for academics, research, and extension.

The garden was inaugurated in presence of Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BESTIU Dr. D L Maheshwar and Progressive Farmer of the Anantapur District Mr. Shiva Reddy. The initiative was appreciated by Mr. Reddy as this approach promotes the health food concept and organic farming.

The garden serves as a live model of potential medical plants for commercial exploration in the farming community. The university intends to develop a medical plants landscape garden in association with leading healthcare institutions covering planting material supply, production, processing, and marketing at a large scale at its upcoming campus at Gorantla. It also aims at motivating farmer producers through short-term entrepreneurial training programs that are open to all in online & blended learning mode.
