It was in 1884 that the St. Joseph’s College was set up in Bangalore by Paris Foreign Mission fathers. It expanded to other branches like St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, St. Joseph’s Evening College and St. Joseph’s College of Business and Administration (SJCBA). In 1937, all the ventures were handed over to the Jesuit fathers.
Thus, SJCBA was the only Jesuit business school in Bangalore. In 1996, the college got approval from the AICTE for a 2-year full-time PGDM program. In 2007, SJBCA got approval from AICTE for 2-year Executive PGDM and PGCM programs. In 2016, the name of the college was changed to St. Joseph Institute for Management (SJIM) with AICTE approval.
The PGDM program is the flagship program of the institute and is reputed to be one among best PGDM courses in Bangalore. Students can specialize in 2 out of 4 management specializations ( Human Resources, Finance, Operations and Marketing).
