Honjo, Akita Jan 31, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - "KODOKU" a film written and directed by Melvin Alexcie Pattern currently living in Japan has reached all corners of the world. The difficulties the production team went through were almost on the verge of giving up. It was the local people in the town of " MISATO " Akita Japan that actually donated and sponsored the whole project.
Kodoku had its first debut with T.V. Tokyo in this famous program, called YUNANISHININIPPON KITA. It has also been screened in many countries and won "BEST DIRECTOR " at numerous film festivals.
Having all cast and crew being local Japanese made the project very challenging for the director as the screenplay is written in English. The table read sessions took hours and days to get the English written screenplay to the actors that did not speak English. Sometimes or most of the time we were lost in translations.
Without any film school background study, Melvin Pattern used his inner vision and passion for creating and bringing Kodoku to life. His solid passion convinced his heart and soul that if you don't have challenges right in front of you in a film, a director will never progress.
It took us eight solid months to get this project off the ground. It was well received and was given many "AWARDS " for its outstanding performance in film directing and storytelling.
