He is currently Chairman Emeritus and Professor of Radiation Oncology at the UHealth Radiation Oncology Department of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center - University of Miami Health System in Miami, Florida. Dr. Markoe also completed a doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh and a post-doctoral year before Medical School.
Dr. Markoe is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). The mission of the ABR is to certify that diplomates demonstrate the requisite knowledge, skill, and understanding of their disciplines to the benefit of patients.
