Appeal for help as tumor eats away 4 year old's face

Was waiting to die

Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe Feb 23, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - A 4-year-old boy Simbarashe Dande having fibrous dysplasia was left to die by  Zimbabwe doctors who have no specialist training or resources to help the boy. The country' economy is dead and there is no health system to talk about.

In September 2018 the child's doctor said there is nothing he can do to save the boy's life but the parents just had to look in agony as their child 's condition deteriorated.

An appeal for help was put in place.

The tumor keeps growing and it has covered his face and eye and distorted his nose and thus he struggles to eat and breathe. The country’s health system is dead and the parents said the doctors said they cannot do anything and so they should just wait for Simbarashe to die. The parents live in a remote rural area in Zimbabwe (Murehwa) and they have no income to seek medical help in another country and aftercare and other related costs. The parents have three other children to look after and both are not employed. We are kindly asking for cash donations to assist the family with medical treatment and Simbarashe upkeep.  May you please help us to keep our child alive and to receive medical care and given a chance to lead a better life rather than to await his death. Your kindness will be greatly appreciated.

The press release has been written to check if you may open your heart and assist the family.T hey are very heartbroken and they have no cent to their name. Simbarashe is desperate for good health so if you have any way of assisting with maybe publicizing and sharing the Go Fund me page below that has been opened in case members of the public may assist in whatever way they can.

Simbarashe struggles to eat and breathe as his nose is distorted and his mouth covered by the harsh tumor. He breathes through the mouth.

A page on NHS website says fibrous dysplasia is a congenital (present at birth) condition that affects bone growth and development. Instead of maturing into solid bone, affected bones stay at the immature fibrous stage and remain weak.

The website says any bones can be affected by fibrous dysplasia and that fibrous dysplasia is a genetic condition, caused by a mutation (change) on a specific gene. This mutation develops sporadically (out of the blue) very early in pregnancy so is not inherited from parents.
