Annika Bellamy, Niece of Redbone’s Tony Bellamy, Joins Pat Vegas for Remake of Iconic Hit “Come and Get Your Love”

Rising artist Annika Bellamy has released a vibrant and powerful new version of the 1974 funk-rock classic. This is the first-ever official remake to feature a collaboration with Pat Vegas, the legendary co-founder, bassist, and co-writer of Redbone.

Long Beach, California Jul 27, 2025 (Issuewire.com)  - This is more than a cover; it is a story of family, legacy, and the passing of a musical torch. Annika Bellamy is the niece of the late Tony “T-Bone” Bellamy, Redbone’s iconic lead guitarist and vocalist, whose signature licks are a cornerstone of the original track’s infectious groove. Annika’s version was born from a deep desire to honor her uncle’s legacy and reintroduce the beloved song to a new generation.

The project received the ultimate validation when Pat Vegas, who had declined all previous offers to remake the song, not only gave his blessing but joined Annika in the studio. Vegas contributes his unmistakable bass and, in a poignant addition to the extended mix, lends his voice to a spoken-word intro with new lyrics penned by Annika, bridging nearly fifty years of music history.

“This song is part of my family’s heartbeat,” says Annika Bellamy. “Growing up with the legacy of my uncle and Redbone was a profound inspiration. To bring this song back to life alongside a legend like Pat Vegas is the greatest honor of my career. We didn’t just want to remake a song; we wanted to channel its original spirit of joy and unity while infusing it with a fresh, modern energy. This is for my uncle, and for everyone who has ever felt the magic of this track.”

Pat Vegas, who remembers Annika as a child, marks his first-ever collaboration on a remake of this beloved track, co-producing and performing to ensure its authenticity. “This is more than a song—it’s a celebration of Redbone’s legacy and Annika’s vibrant talent,” says Vegas. “We’re bringing the spirit of ‘Come and Get Your Love’ to a new generation.”

The original “Come and Get Your Love” reached the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was famously featured in Marvel’s blockbuster film Guardians of the Galaxy, Reservation Dogs, and F is for Family, cementing its status as a timeless cultural anthem. Annika’s re-imagined version respects this history while forging a new path, driven by her powerful vocals and a crisp, dynamic production that makes the song feel as relevant today as it was nearly five decades ago.

I was blessed to have a team of super talented musicians and engineers during the 1.5 year long project like Pat (of course),  also Todd Meikle, John Tessin, Justin Gariano, Matthew James, Elijah Nunez, & Alex Solano. I couldn't have done it without them, Says Annika.

I'd also like to acknowledge the additional support from Pat's family Acela & Frankie. And send some love to my band members: John Tessin, Khrystopher Hatch, Elijah Nunez, and Anton Laplume when we performed the song live at our private release party back in April at the famous LA venue TheCult. Pat and I did a Q&A on stage moderated by docufilm maker Josh Sikkema, and DJ Robert Lee Brown rocked the rooftop party, all sponsored by Kamei Corp., Sennheiser, ProCore Audio, RME Audio, and BlackPigeon Films.

A Modern Classic with Chart Ambitions

This remake fuses Annika’s soulful vocals with Pat Vegas’s signature basslines, infusing modern production while preserving the song’s funky, feel-good vibe. Engineered for today’s streaming era, the track is poised for viral success on TikTok and Instagram Reels, with sync potential for TV, film, and commercials building on its Guardians of the Galaxy legacy. The single is backed by a robust marketing campaign targeting Billboard’s Hot 100, leveraging detailed analytics and sync licensing to drive streams and sales.

Annika released 3 versions: Her Original Version, a Instrumental Version with her harmonies, and a Extended Version with Pat speaking in the beginning.
