West Palm Beach, Florida Nov 6, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - After having researched the progress of escape rooms in America over the past two years, it is easy to see that the industry is here to stay. Especially after attending one at a bar mitzvah this past weekend!
Did I just say bar mitzvah? Escape rooms and bar mitzvahs are not synonymous terms, nor would one ever believe that the two would ever go together. Normally you would see a DJ, a band, photo booths, video games, or some other type of entertainment, but an escape room just doesn't seem like something you would find at a bar mitzvah. One company, Escape Rooms to Go, has changed that.
Escape Rooms to Go is a mobile escape room provider who brings the escape room to you. They specialize in all types of events, from birthdays to anniversaries and yes, even weddings and mitzvahs! "If someone wants a really unique attraction for their party or event, an escape room is as unique as you will get," said Greg Davis of Escape Rooms to Go. "We bring the escape room to people's homes, offices, or any venue that they choose. We set it up and then operate it exactly as if you went out to a permanent escape room."
If you don't know what escape rooms are by now, you have probably been living in a bubble the past two years. Escape rooms are sending investors and entrepreneurs running to get a piece of this trending new industry with sustained growth projected through 2020. Party theater, part game, and part team-building exercise, escape rooms are one of the fastest growing industry today.
"Many people have wanted to go to an escape room, but have never gotten around to doing so mainly because you have to usually book the escape room well in advance," continued Davis. "We have a remedy for that. We bring the escape room to you. We set up the escape room exactly as you would see if you went to one. We make it realistic, challenging and fun."
Fun indeed. The escape room was the most popular attraction at the Bar Mitzvah, even outpacing the giant video games that were located just outside the rooms. There were three to choose from, and many of the guests did all three. "This is a refreshing break from the video games and the smartphone games that the kids are playing," said Rita Hosteler, one of the family members at the Bar Mitzvah. "I am so happy to see the kids having fun playing a game that doesn't involve technology, this was an excellent choice for the party. It gives me a reason to believe that these kids one day may be able to save the planet!"
While our children one day saving the planet is a wonderful idea, it's a bit of a stretch to think that saving the planet could be assimilated to escape room participation. However, if you think about it, an escape room does get the minds going and exercises critical thinking skills. They keep the mind active and sharp.
This new concept of bringing the escape room to people's homes seems part genius and very profitable as they are reaping the same financial benefits of permanent escape rooms, but have no added expenses of rent, utilities, etc.
The escape room idea at the bar mitzvah was surely thinking outside of the box, which is exactly what Escape Rooms to Go has done, and it seems to have paid off in a big way. Since word of mouth goes a long way in the mobile entertainment industry, the company is booked solid for the next three months and is in the process of adding new escape rooms to be able to handle more business.
So the next time you see an escape room in the most unlikely of places, don't knock it. It might just save the planet!
