Air Peace to Launch Direct Flights Between Lagos and São Paulo from November 2025
Air Peace, West Africa’s largest privately owned airline, today announced it will inaugurate nonstop service between Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos and Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo beginning November 2025. This pioneering route—the first direct link between Nigeria and Brazil—underscores Air Peace’s strategic commitment to expanding global connectivity while strengthening economic, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Africa’s most populous nation and Latin America’s largest economy.
Flights will operate each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening, completing the journey in approximately twelve hours and shaving more than eight hours off current itineraries that require stopovers in Europe or the Middle East. The service will deploy Air Peace’s latest Embraer narrow-body jets, featuring fully reclining business-class seats, ergonomically designed economy seating optimized for legroom and on-demand entertainment, onboard Wi-Fi, regionally inspired catering, and a multilingual cabin crew trained to international service standards. Air Peace’s sister cargo carrier, Cavertin Airlines, has also obtained regulatory approval to commence dedicated freighter operations on the same corridor by year-end, facilitating two-way flows of agricultural produce, textiles, pharmaceuticals, machinery, automotive components, and consumer goods.
This milestone follows the Bilateral Air Services Agreement signed in Brasília by Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, and Brazil’s Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, in the presence of Presidents Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Complementary memoranda of understanding on science and innovation, joint agricultural financing, and diplomatic training lay the groundwork for enduring collaboration across multiple sectors. Travelers may book seats immediately via Air Peace’s online portal, mobile application, or call center; dedicated visa-assistance desks at both Lagos and São Paulo airports will streamline entry formalities, while codeshare partnerships will seamlessly connect passengers onward to more than twenty domestic and international destinations.
Chairman and CEO Allen Onyema remarked, “By establishing the first nonstop service between Lagos and São Paulo, Air Peace is ushering in a new era of intercontinental travel that will unlock trade, tourism, and cultural exchange on an unprecedented scale.” President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva added, “This service exemplifies the spirit of partnership between our nations and will deepen people-to-people ties across two vibrant continents.”
Founded in 2013 with a single aircraft, Air Peace has rapidly evolved into West Africa’s premier private airline. Today, the carrier operates a modern fleet of over thirty aircraft on routes spanning Nigeria’s major metropolitan centers, key West African capitals, the Middle East, Asia, and now South America. Renowned for its unwavering focus on safety, punctuality, and passenger comfort, Air Peace has earned multiple industry accolades, including Best African Airline by the African Aviation Awards. The company’s sustainability initiatives include investments in fuel-efficient aircraft, community development programs, and carbon-offset partnerships, reflecting a commitment to responsible growth and environmental stewardship.
