Phildelphia, Pennsylvania Sep 21, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - Erika Eleniak has been cast as Denise Castor in the indie film, To Avenge. She joins actors Zach Galligan (Gremlins), Kelli Maroney (Fast Times at Ridgemont High), Bernard Robichaud (Trailer Park Boys) and Brooke Lewis (iMurders) in the upcoming thriller feature. Actress Taylor Hay (The Real O'Neals) will star as Vera Castor and Hannah Kleeman (Against the Night) will play the enigmatic Taarna.
Throughout her career, Erika has been associated with films and roles best described as iconic. Her first feature film role came via Steven Spielberg's ET: The Extraterrestrial, Erika was an original cast member in the popular Baywatch television series then appeared in Under Siege and The Beverly Hillbillies. In To Avenge, Erika plays Denise Castor, the mother of a recent college graduate who is sexually assaulted, only to watch her attackers go free due to their wealth and power. Denise remains strong and supportive as she watches her daughter struggle to regain her life in the wake of that trauma. Meanwhile, a curious stranger named Taarna steps are determined to right the wrong.
During a recent interview with Ruth Hill, Erika drew a comparison between her character in To Avenge and the mother in the movie Peppermint with Jennifer Garner. "In Peppermint, her character’s entire family gets gunned down and she takes the law into her own hands. When she was interviewed about this, she said, “You know, it’s interesting. We always see men in these roles, don’t we?” " But if you think about it, mothers feel the same way and can be just as fierce, if not fiercer when it comes to their kids. So I find it very interesting that Peppermint is currently in theaters which makes marketing To Avenge a very interesting and current choice."
To Avenge was created by Nick Belial who co-wrote the script with Canadian screenwriter, Erin Hazlehurst. Nick Belial will direct. Erika Eleniak is represented by Danielle Bilodeau of the Cue Agency.
