ACMSS/ACCDO Applaud Pick of CMMI Director Boehler to Lead Efforts to Transform Our Healthcare System

"Secretary Azar has made transition and innovation toward a 21st century, value-based healthcare system one of his top priorities, and this is another positive move in that direction.”

Orange, California Jul 18, 2018 (Issuewire.com)  - The American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS) and the American College of Clinical Documentation Outcomes (ACCDO) applaud Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar’s move to appoint Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation Director Adam Boehler as a senior adviser for value-based transformation and innovation. In this role, Boehler will be in charge of overhauling existing policy and developing new policy proposals in an effort to accelerate the momentum toward value-based healthcare.

“By this move, the Secretary is demonstrating his support for the ongoing HHS commitment to transforming and innovating our healthcare system away from the old volume-based, fee-for-service model," said ACMSS Executive Director Kristin Hagen. "Secretary Azar has made transition and innovation toward a 21st century, value-based healthcare system one of his top priorities, and this is another positive move in that direction.”

ACMSS and ACCDO are empowering America’s healthcare system, clinicians, and Physician/Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) teams to pursue coordinated national goals that truly transform America’s healthcare system, building patient-centered care through the CMSS licensed professional. The ACMSS/ACCDO vision of a value-based, patient-centered system includes a focus on wellness, prevention, disease reversal, 21st century cures, and evidence-based, integrative models of care.
