A 2,000-km-long Underwater Rail Connecting Mumbai to UAE will Start Soon

According to reports, the UAE is planning to build a 2,000-km-long underwater railway track that will bridge a connection between Mumbai and Fujairah city in the UAE.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Nov 15, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - UAE appears to be developing its technology at a higher speed these days! According to several reports, the country is planning to build a grand 2,000-kilometer-long railway track underwater that will connect India to the UAE directly. This railway track will be built connecting Mumbai to Fujairah city, UAE, Middle East. The announcement was made public during the current India-UAE Conclave in Abu Dhabi.

Abdulla Alshehhi, Managing Director and Chief Consultant of National Advisor Bureau Limited, made a statement regarding this news saying the goals and this soon-to-be establishment aims to build a bridge between the two countries and make the relationship stronger. The aim is to connect Mumbai, India to Fujairah City, UAE using ultra-fast floating trains. Through this initiative, the UAE is hoping to increase bilateral commerce with India. On the other hand, this will essentially be a give-and-take arrangement, where India will get oil imported from the UAE while exporting excess freshwater from the Narmada River to the Middle East via pipes. This step is also set to benefit the future of import-export between the two countries.

Alshehhi stated, "This is a concept. We plan to connect the Indian city of Mumbai with Fujairah through ultra-speed floating trains. The project aims to boost bilateral trade. There will be an export of oil to India from Fujairah port and an import of excess water from Narmada River, north of Mumbai. In addition, other GCC partners can also improve export and import." Conceptualized by National Advisor Bureau Limited, a UAE-based company, this "floating underwater network" will also be transporting passengers between these two countries.

Abdulla Alshehhi was also asked the timeframe it would take to finally see the development, to which he replied, that it would take some time to materialize the concept since different factors need to be addressed first. Before even beginning the initiative, the MD and chief consultant stated that a feasibility analysis would be conducted of both the cities and countries.

Currently, this underwater railway track project is not only in development in UAE but in China as well. China is also proposing an underwater link with the United States, Canada, and Russia in the near future. Similarly, talking about possibilities within India, two cities, Mumbai and Ahmedabad will both have high-speed train connections shortly.
