Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Sep 22, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Registration for the 2027 Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) opens October 20–22, 2026, giving prospective medical students access to appointments across the January–September testing season. International Medical Aid (IMA) is helping students plan ahead with its guide to 2027 MCAT dates and registration, which brings together exam dates, score-release timing, and considerations for balancing preparation with coursework and clinical experience.
The Association of American Medical Colleges will open registration in three groups based on testing location. Scheduling begins at noon Eastern Time on each location’s assigned day. Students can confirm their regional opening date through the AAMC’s official registration announcement.
The 2027 U.S. MCAT calendar lists 35 testing dates, beginning January 15 and ending September 11, including a February 12 exam. January 30, May 14, July 9, and August 28 are available only at select testing centers. Scores from the January 15 and 16 exams are scheduled for release on February 16; results from the September 10 and 11 exams are scheduled for October 12.
IMA’s guide encourages students to consider readiness, score-release dates, and competing commitments before choosing an appointment. Planning study time and clinical experiences together can help students avoid placing an intensive internship, travel, or a demanding academic term immediately before their exam.
Students can also use IMA’s MCAT Calculator to convert the number of correct answers on a practice exam into estimated section scores, a total score, and percentile ranks. The free resource helps users compare performance across the exam’s four sections and identify areas needing further review. Results are estimates, not official AAMC scores or guarantees of admission, and should be considered alongside scored practice exams and a broader preparation plan.

IMA’s healthcare internships abroad combine clinical observation with mentorship, global health education, and supervised community outreach. Depending on the program, a week may include hospital rotations, discussions with mentors, health education activities, language lessons, and cultural excursions. These experiences give students opportunities to develop communication skills and examine how local resources, living conditions, and cultural practices affect health.
In Kenya, participants gain exposure to healthcare delivery in East Africa. In Peru, hospital observation and medical Spanish learning are complemented by time in Cusco and opportunities to learn about Andean culture. IMA also provides alumni support with medical and PA school applications, personal statements, and interviews.
