Teacher Delves into the Real Struggle of Forgiving

A child’s lesson on forgiveness and letting go

Los Angeles, California Apr 7, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - The reality of how difficult it is to forgive is played out in Freda Dehoff’s “Better than a Homerun”. When Daryl Jenkins loses his best friend in a car accident, caused by the negligence of an irresponsible driver, his world crumbles along with his summer plans. He struggles to move past what happened and the pain doesn’t seem to subside even when he’s doing what he loves the most — playing baseball.

Forgiveness, as seen in the eyes of a twelve-year-old boy and moving on from loss, is the core of the story. The author takes readers into a story of finding the strength to face an enemy, letting go and forgiving with God’s help. She hopes to teach children this difficult lesson of not holding on to grudges. As an educator and because of her love for children, it is Dehoff's wish that her message of learning to free oneself from anger and resentment would help the readers through the course of life.

Freda Dehoff’s work will be exhibited at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books to be held at the University of Southern California this coming April 13 – 14, 2019. Authors Press’ will display her book at booth number 937 between 10:30 am – 5:30 pm. Festival goers and readers from all ages will get an exclusive preview of the book.
