Shawnee Knight classically trained at the French Culinary Institute of NYC and co-founding Filling in the Blanks in New Canaan allowed her to marry her love of food, community, and charity. Shawnee is also a member of the Stamford Food Collaborative and the Stamford Public School’s Strategic Planning Advisory Committee. Shawnee’s elder son Andrew Knight graduated New Canaan High School two years back. Andrew also contributes to Filling in the Blanks.
When not working, Shawnee and her husband Douglas Knight love to explore the areas around New Canaan.

Shawnee Knight is the co-president and co-founder of New Canaan based nonprofit organization called Filling in the Blanks that is dedicated to fighting child hunger by providing the children in need with nutritious meals on the weekends. The lunch program they offer provides meals to children in local pre-schools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and camps.
