Rap City Chronicles Show bringing comedic relief in turbulent times

New York City, New York Nov 21, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - The Rap City Chronicles is a show created by industry heavy-hitters DBrad, Ray El and Butta to pay homage to one of the most lasting influential art forms and cultural movements, Hip-Hop.

Hip-hop is a cultural movement that attained widespread popularity in the 1980s and ’90s; also, the backing music for rap, the musical style incorporating rhythmic and/or rhyming speech. It grew into a movement of hopeful poets, visual artists, and urban philosophers adding their visions and voices by whatever means available.

DBrad was an intern for VH1 and MTV and then began his professional career with Black Entertainment Television producing Rap City the basement, he moved on to working network television on shows like Chappelle’s Show where he worked as Dave Chappelle’s rehearsal & filming stand in & 2nd AD as well as set PA.

He also worked for Saturday Night Live, American Idol, and worked stunt unit on shows like Law and Order and Third Watch, films like Spider-Man 2 and a slew of other shows. DBrad was also an actor a part of the negro ensemble company in the same class as Kerry Washington.

He took a break and worked in education as well as writing the book BET,DBRAD&ME in 2007. He spent a few years as a public speaker on the topic of his book being the influence of mythology and symbolism, it’s use in hip hop music & it’s intended effect on the audience.

Ray-El started in the industry at the age of 16. He was in Malcom X in the Fol, he worked with MosDEF, Redman, K-Solo, Sean price and was a Roadie for EPMD and MosDEF. On television he played a inmate on Oz and most recently played a boxer in South Paw. In 2007 he became a editor and cinematographer.

Butta started in the entertainment  industry back in 96 as a assistant wardrobe stylist for the music dept at BET. He garnered recognition for his eye for storytelling, because of his background in travel he was asked to work on several shows that required extensive travel.  RAPCITY was one of those shows where he learned on the job how to become a valuable team member and storyteller. He climbed the ladder and went from PA to senior producer.

He left BET and entered the reality TV world in 2011, his first show was the Real Housewives of Atlanta. After a season of housewives he was recruited for the 2nd season of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. He became known as the talent whisperer ( because of his ability to get talent to open up to me) which led to being asked by an exec producer to help with the premiere season of Black Ink Crew Chicago.

After that he followed the same executive producer back to Atlanta for 2 more seasons of the housewives. After a short hiatus due to health concerns he has teamed up with DBrad and Ray El to work on Rap City Chronicles.
