Crestview, Florida “Community Leadership Luncheon”
Kimberly Weekes- Precinct Committeewoman of the Okaloosa County Democratic Executive Committee (DEC) states “We are working non-stop to register voters, and will host a casual themed luncheon for community leaders on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 11:30 am. At the luncheon, we will share a big announcement, which involves important plans for our community and our democracy.” The luncheon will take place at Evelenar Baptist Church, 2820 Carver Ave, Crestview, Florida 32536, where Pastor Edwin Stallworth is Residing Pastor.
Our keynote speaker is Ms. Helen Butler, who is the Executive Director of the Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda convened by Dr. Joseph Lowery. Ms. Butler leads this advocacy organization made up of members from human and civil rights organizations. She also serves with various groups that include labor rights, women rights and young professionals. Helen is a dedicated member of the Georgia Democratic Party.
Other speakers include Mr. Ellis Hodges of the Okaloosa County DEC and the Okaloosa County Democratic Black Caucus; Mr. Keith Hardy, Florida Democratic Party Community Engagement Director; Ms. Tracey Tapp, Chair Okaloosa Democratic Executive Committee; and Phil Ehr Democratic Candidate for US Congress in Florida’s First Congressional District.
As we organize for our upcoming Presidential and local elections, we cannot afford to leave anyone behind; everyone’s voice needs to be heard.
