Jodhpur, Rajasthan Dec 2, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - With the aim of spreading Public Awareness of defeating Diabetes through training Healthcare Professionals, Screening, and Education a health camp was organized at Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur (Rajasthan) on 30th November 2018. Jodhpur School of Public Health (JSPH) in collaboration with Meharangarh Museum Trust organized this health camp. Clinicians, Nutritionists, Dentists and allied professionals offered their services in this camp. Bhawna Sati (Head of Department - JSPH) shared that Parameters like blood pressure, random blood sugar (RBS) and body mass index were evaluated during this camp. Participants were individually counselled on signs, symptoms, prevention and management of diabetes with appropriate educational material. With the aim of awareness of symptoms, knowledge of prevention and management of diabetes students and Public Health workers presented a skit focusing type 1 diabetes sharing lifestyle of kids and teens who work hard every day to live well with Diabetes. Example of several celebrities including famous singer Nick Jonas and his fight with Diabetes was also quoted in the skit. His life story has turned out to be the source of motivation and inspiration for all especially children suffering from Diabetes. During the camp, Dr Pankaj Rajdan unveiled the poster of JSPH’s mission titled “Defeating Diabetes in Desert and beyond” by reducing stress and exercising every day, the disease can be kept in control, he said.
