Every Friday from 27 September 2019, the Hold That Note crew will kick start your weekend with hot floor fillers from all genres of world music with a strong emphasis on Afro, Latin, Reggae, Jazz, Boogie, Funk and Soul.

This latest venture, from the known  DJ collective, is a must addition to your weekend to-do list and is set to inject some eclectic funk into the edge of on-trend Brixton.

DJs Darkwood and Danny Dixon come with credentials and will lay down serious grooves whilst Brixton's own Shamha Vibration join in with their pulsating African Drums and accompany heavyweight local Spoken Word Masters Uncle Errol and Beadyman.

Speaking about the history of Hold That Note Nick Said

Back in the heady nights of clubbing in the City of London - way long before the developers took over - just across the junction from the legendary Turnmills in Clerkenwell Road stood the "The Metropolitan Pub". Here the "NIGHT IN HAVANA" and "LEGS" crew would pack them in every Friday night - lighting up the drab, urban landscape spinning cutting edge rhythms and dance tracks from around the world. Be it swinging Zouk, Brazilian Jazz, Rare Groove Soul or the hardest Cuban Salsa … it didn't matter! The mixed, receptive crowd knew a good tune when it dropped and would groove into the early hours.”

The popularity of these nights saw the DJ collective take up residence at a much-needed larger venue - the iconic Royal Oak in Tooley Street, Tower Bridge. The two floors inspired the concept of "One price - Two Floors". The stonking club nights continued until the London Bridge City Developers planted their seeds of gentrification.

Speaking about their return and what to expect from the revival of Hold That Note in Brixton Jos said:

“As the old adage goes "You can't keep a good thing down" and after several years dedicating ourselves to our careers and day jobs, we have reformed as "HOLD THAT NOTE". Now we are back to bring you a diverse, fun, exciting and immersive experience, that will take you on a musical journey like no other. “

Expect, quality music solo artists and full bands. There’s also an Eritrean Menu on offer to sample some cultural cuisine and a Happy Hour to enhance that Hold That Note experience.
