Former Airmen Write Military Fiction Set in Post-War South Korea

Poignant Novel Weaves Themes of Love, Loss, and Guilt

Las Vegas, Nevada Dec 11, 2018 (Issuewire.com)  - Butterfly Wish: A Doomed Interracial Love Affair Set in Post War South Korea is a compelling novel written by D. Davidson and R. Marcano. Set in the aftermath of the Korean War, the story follows the exploits of two military men, Shane Brennan, and Manny Veneto, as they are dragged into a dark and disturbing world. Heartbreaking but brutal at times, the story also highlights how love can find its way in the most unlikely of places.

Serving in the United States Air Force, Shane and Manny are sent to post-war South Korea in 1963. Although the war was over, the lives of the two men abruptly changed when they are pulled into a world where everything was up for grabs and life is of little value. As the two men succumbed into immorality, one of them finds love unexpectedly. Fifty years later, Shane and Manny, burdened by guilt and shame, return to South Korea to seek forgiveness and face the mistakes that long tormented them.

“I enjoyed the writing and the frank retelling of events as they actually were without any attempts to gloss over or try to justify the horrors faced by the civilian population. It was hard hitting and yet deeply touching at times,” says Grant Leishman of Reader’s Favorite.
