New York City, New York Jan 18, 2021 (Issuewire.com)  - At the start of her academic career, Christine graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Fairfield University in 1984. She then went on to earn her Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in Healthcare, from the University of New Haven in 1995. She began her career in the Women’s Health Unit at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and continued to include critical care nursing, nurse management and later developed the position and served as Clinical Nurse Coordinator IV for the Department of Surgery, Section, Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.

Currently, she serves as a registered nurse at the Virginia Department of Health which administers public health throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia in the United States, through its 35 local health districts. Christine also volunteers as an Immunization Nurse at Olde Towne Medical and Dental Clinic, a rural safety-net clinic. She is dedicated to the mission of both organizations; to protect the health and well-being of all people in the community, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Christine remains an active member of the American Nurses Association and the Virginia Nurses Association, where she is a member of the Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She also serves as Healthcare Hope Ambassador for the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. She is an activist for issues related to health and wellness and believes that advocacy is a natural extension of the patient and community care.

A Registered Nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province, or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
