Big Growth for Mobile Entertainers in Portable Escape Rooms

Mobile entertainers and entrepreneurs scramble to be first to market with new escape room spinoff.

New York City, New York Jan 10, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - The escape room is undoubtedly one of the world's fastest growing industries during the past two years and has now spawned a new industry within an industry.  The portable escape room's growth in the past year is estimated to be 10x and is expected to continue this growth through 2020.  Mobile entertainers, investors, and entrepreneurs are getting on board quickly and vying to be first to market with this new trend.

While the escape room's roots can be traced to Japan, the portable escape room was born right here in the U.S. by a Miami, FL inflatable company.  New Escape Guild, formerly Miami Bounce, first began providing a portable escape room to client's homes and offices in 2017. "We saw the growth of the escape room, but also knew that there were many more people who never tried an escape room," said Dan Burroughs, vice president of New Escape Guild. "We were told by many people that they wanted to try one but were turned off because you had to book an escape room well in advance, and they just never got around to visiting one. So we decided to bring the escape room to them."

In February 2017, Burroughs' company began offering escape rooms to their inflatable clients.  By the beginning of 2018, they were completely booked every week with escape room events.  They partnered with their escape room design firm and renamed their company, the New Escape Guild.  They have never looked back since.  "When we started telling clients that we now had escape rooms which we could now bring to their homes and offices.  We had immediate bookings, the response was incredible.  It was as easy as picking up the phone, and we would have another event booking."

Portable escapes are still in their infancy, but will soon be making their way into mainstream mobile entertainment. People are looking for a new type of event entertainment experience, not the typical bounce house, gaming trailer or photo booth parties, which are now as stale as a month-old loaf of bread.

While escape rooms officially started in Japan over 5-years ago, and quickly expanded through Asia and Europe, they are today, still, one of the most profitable forms of entertainment as their popularity is off the charts and have very low overhead.  Enter the portable escape room with virtually no overhead!

For people who refuse to get off the couch and lose the TV clicker, they will soon be exposed to escape rooms as soon as they attend their friend's birthday parties, anniversaries, and yes, even weddings.  Corporations are increasingly using escape rooms for team building activities.  With the advent of the portable escape room, they won't have to transport all their employees to a remote escape room location, and their staff won't have to miss an entire day of work.

So far, all indicators say that the portable escape room isn't just a new trend, and may even outlast the stand-alone static escape room in popularity and certainly profitability.
