Los Angeles, California Feb 24, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - Every year, 3.6 million Americans totally miss their doctor appointments due to a lack of reliable transportation generating no-show rates are as high as 30% nationwide. Transportation barriers are common across the general population, these barriers are greatest for vulnerable populations, including patients with the highest burden of chronic disease. and need for multiple transporting to their appointments.

Combined with an aging population that may not have friends or family to transport them, this increases the problem of getting to their appointments. Then comes the loss of memory many of us all know all too well the appointment is missed which can result in longer rebooking time frames.

The app that is now under development with the My Hip Smart app designers has the goal to assist and solve the noted problems in the non-emergency markets.

For the Medical Centers (with their own private label) provides a communication platform for their patients, medical office and their transportation providers (private or their own). Patients are contacted and can track the appointments with ease from the patient’s app with important particulars. Caring emails and text are sent to also remind them of their appointments that can be well scheduled in advance.

Uber and Lyft have medical patient transportation programs do not have the feature of the requirements of the appointment. Examples are the need for fasting, bringing meds for verification, samples required to bring as well as other important particulars.

And if a patient selects to add files to their appointment it is double encrypted and scanned daily to ensure the safety and privacy of each and every patient. Uber and Lyft also do not have special needs for wheelchairs and inside delivery of the patients.

The app also has a sharing option so the patient's “friends and family” can also be aware of the appointments as well.
