Anthropologist’s Spiritual Journey Uncovered in Debut Book

Book captures two-year pilgrimage in the mountains of Hawaii and beyond

Los Angeles, California Mar 26, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - Anthropologist and author Neville Abbott Jacobs’ debut book, “The Master on the Mountain” is a personal account of her pilgrimage through Asia and the Pacific in search of spiritual awakening.

The book recaps two years of the author’s life. Starting from 1977, where she met Nechung Rinpoche, a Tibetan lama on a mountain in Hawaii. From his tutelage, she learns about Buddhism, Tibetan history, and the rich culture of ancient Asia. Jacobs conveys her experiences in a casual yet galvanizing tone, retracing her steps back to the day when she meets with the Dalai Lama. She shares how her entire experience in understanding Buddhism made an impact on her life.

Christine, an Amazon reader, writes that the book is an “extraordinary experience.” She adds that the author’s spiritual quest gave her “a clearer perspective of Buddhism.” She also finds Jacobs’s writing entertaining — she feels as though she was accompanying the author in her journey. She rated the book five stars online.

Authors Press will showcase “The Master on the Mountain” at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books to be held at the University of Southern California campus this coming April 13 to 14, 2019. Jacobs’ book will be exhibited at Authors Press’ booth number 937.  Readers from all ages, including filmmakers and movie producers, will get an exclusive preview of his work during the festivities.
