In the book, author Robinson relates one of his bold life experiences like the last mission for Operation Castle as well as a GCA landing, which was a kind of practice at the end of every flight.
Part of his recollection was when the explosion went off in a tremendous storm. The leaders of the Air Force Section decided to use a B-36 with radar to guide the sampler planes to the nuclear cloud. After several directed flights of no success, the F-84 fighter planes were getting low on fuel. The B-36 finally topped out of the storm and directed the F-84’s to collect the samples.
Carl’s work will be exhibited at the Manila International Book Fair to be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Philippines this coming Sept. 11- 15, 2019 from 10am-8pm at the Authors Press booth no. 2-35.
