The 8th ever BBQ festival drew crowds of over 27,000 from across the country. Over a the three day span, Festival goers devoured over 18,000 pounds of BBQ prepared by TV celebrity pit masters, listened to 9 amazing bands, and shopped over 50 local craft and food vendors.All of this, while enjoying ice cold beer and Four Roses Bourbon and signature cocktail drinks from Wilderness Trail Distillery!
The new location at Wilderness Trail Distillery proved to be a great success as BBQ Lovers came out in force to enjoy the sights, sounds and smell of smoke in the air. Although the move created a few challenges and added a few expenses, Festival organizers share that this year’s event will be even more exciting having worked through their growing pains. With Wilderness Trail Distillery’s new bourbon release, they are ready for the crowds, estimated to be over 30,000.
Featuring7-TV celebrity BBQ Pitmasters, having appeared on Good Morning America, Food Network, The Travel Channel and The Learning Channel (TLC) to name just a few. Several of our Pitmasters have placed in the Top 10at Memphis In May – the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Competition, and hundreds of significant BBQ competitions nationwide, year after year after year! And you get to meet them, shake their hand and eat their food in Danville, KY.
Once again, we will be welcoming back Amy and Mike Mills of 17th Street Barbecue, Carey Bringle of Peg Leg Porker, Moe Cason of Ponderosa BBQ, Craig Kimmel of Firehouse BBQ, Shelly Frisch of Desperados BBQ, Rod Bennett and the crew from Lucky Dog BBQ, and last but not least, Garry and Leslie Roark of Ubon’s BBQ to complete our celebrity line-up of Pitmasters for 2018!
